The news of its death has been greatly exaggerated.

I'm barely able to locate the laundry room door behind all the stinky, salty, sweaty items that need to be run through the Heavy Duty cycle at least twice, the Boys are experiencing Undivided Attention Withdrawals Level Red, and I have a DVR loaded with "Tori and Dean" and "The Bachelorette" (please tell me Wes was sent packing) that I am dying to watch, but I must take a quick second to right a terrible wrong.

During one of our glorious days spent along the Redneck Riviera, we took the boys for a little drive down 30-A to investigate all the happenings, as well as to get Youngest to take a much needed nap. While on this mission, we happened to pass what I thought would be the new boutique hotel that erased my beloved Seagrove Motel, but wait...is that an oasis?! My eyes fuzzy from too much sun?!!

Nope.

The Seagrove Villas and Motel is alive and well, (here's my post on why it's my avatar) and thriving I might add (no picture, I know - sorry kids. When I "shut off" the blog, I shut it off. Regretfully.)

Turns out, the "carpetbaggers" - my parent's words - whom purchased the property, went bankrupt and had to sell the land before they tore down the motel. A locally run rental company refurbished it, and it is now back up and running.

Gorgeously, I might add.

So, a thousand apologies to the new owners! Thank you so much for saving this slice of Old Florida, and if any of you are planning on visiting the 30-A area, check it out.

Now, does anyone know how difficult it is to change your avatar all over Blogger?

Glad you're back and your hotel is safe and sound!

Wes "accidentally" said "my girlfriend, uh, I mean my ex-girlfriend..." during a conversation.

Hi EM, welcome back! Glad to hear the old motel is still standing.

My trashy reality TV habit this summer has been America's Next Top Model reruns on Sundays. I know, I know, there's no explainig the draw.

Hi Girly,
I have been a bit absent but I am back to being connected again! How great that the old beat out the new. There is so much new, shiny and tall in the panhandle that’s great that the old character places still have their spot.

"carpetbaggers" Wait one cotton pickin' minute but where exactly where were your folks born?

But I am happy about your hotel.... girls weekend when the our boys are old enough to take care of their dad's.
